Applying for a job in BC from outside Canada?
Hello,
A friend of mine wants to migrate from his home country to BC, Canada. He’s a programmer with a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from a local university, and has had more than 10 years of experience working with a software company and as a freelance systems analyst/software developer. He reads, writes and speaks English very fluently (he got 7.5 or 8 in his IELTS and over 630 in his TOEFL). He has experience with Java, C++ and Delphi.
His resume aside, I was wondering if there was anyway he could apply for a job in BC from outside Canada. Would employers be willing to accept a foreign applicant outside the country? What are some good places to look? We’ve looked at websites such as workopolis.com, monster.ca, jobbank.gc.ca, and Yahoo! HotJobs.
Thank you.
You need to check toronto, in larger firms that hire business minded. There are places for office type people that are hired by companies for companies, anyone can apply from anywhere for any job, alot of those big wig companies will pay to have him brought here for the job, he can apply for a temp work related visa as well then do a canada citizen when he gets here. The money is in toronto, although bc is picking up but its cheep to live there so i expect the pay is shallow but the money is in oil there right now without the experience for oil fields etc you wont make much. I dont knpow what type of courses he has but they sound pretty serious, try microsft, and places like that or huge investment companies, he seems to know his shi*t
